Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e, also known as Classroom of the Elite, is a Japanese light novel series written by Syohgo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. The series was first serialized in the MF Bunko J imprint from May 25, 2015. The light novel has been adapted into a manga series and an anime television series.
The story follows a prestigious high school, Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, which has a unique system of grading where the students are ranked based on their academic and personal achievements. The students are assigned to four classes, A through D, with Class A being the most elite class.
The main character, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, is a reserved and introverted student who is placed in Class D, the lowest-ranked class. Despite his low ranking, he is shown to possess exceptional intelligence and physical abilities.
